Grace of Spades was born into the New York music scene going to her father’s gigs in a stroller. His eclectic record collection that included everything from punk, soul, R & B to reggae, spawned the birth of her interest in the culture of Jamaican reggae music, thus leading to the accumulation of her own scratchy 45 selection. At 18, she hosted DJ nights around various Brooklyn dives, then toured the Southeast and landed some gigs overseas. With great fortune, she found herself cleaning records for her friends at Deadly Dragon Sound System a few days a week. Here she amassed an even deeper love for the art of the DJ… along with a few dozen more piles of records. She continues to play her records out regularly and always supports her reggae family far and wide!
